Reporter Navideh Forghani joined NBC Augusta 26 News in June 2006.

She received her degree in telecommunications and political science from the University of Florida. During her time at UF, she worked as reporter/anchor for WUFT-FM, the local NPR station, including being host of the local segment of Morning Edition.

Navideh has covered various stories from the launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery in 2005 to the Red Carpet during the Oscars. She was able to interview actors like Ludacris and Keira Knightley. She’s received six awards from the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists for outstanding journalism, including best overall excellence.

She also spent time interning at CNN’s International Desk and studying International Politics in Egypt for a summer.

When she’s not at work, Navideh enjoys traveling and trying new things outside of her comfort zone.
