Award winning journalist Michael joined the NBC Augusta News team in April 2005 as a general assignment reporter after spending one year as an associate producer at WTVJ, the NBC affiliate in Miami, Florida.

In 2007, he was honored with a Gabby by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters for "Best News Story", and received honorable mention by the Georgia Associated Press for “Best Series Reporting”.

Michael also spent two years at KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri while earning his journalism degree at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. (Go Tigers!) During his time at KOMU, Michael was a member of the station’s investigative team where he uncovered restaurants serving-up dirty conditions and mail order companies ripping-off customers.

Michael also interned three summers at WTVJ in Miami where he took on various duties from satellite control to assisting reporters in the field.

Michael was born and raised in sunny South Florida. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, traveling, and playing sports.
