Trent Butler
Trent Butler has returned home to Georgia to co-anchor for NBC Augusta News at 6 & 11 p.m. Trent grew up outside Atlanta and graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast News, minoring in History and Speech. His wife Julie is also a UGA graduate and she grew up in Martinez. Trent has worked in both sports and news, starting his career at a radio station in Columbia, South Carolina. After working at WJBF in Augusta, Trent moved his family to Rome, Georgia and then During his eleven years at WBBH TV in Fort Myers, Trent spent most of his time behind the anchor desk. Yet, some of his favorite moments include covering the 1997 World Series in Cleveland featuring the Marlins and Indians and the Republican National Convention in Philadelphia in 2000. Since he returned to Augusta in the fall of 2006, some of Trent's highlights include covering the 2007 Masters and the Presidential debate at South Carolina State. Trent is a member of the Augusta Rotary Club. He was part of the Recently, his volunteer efforts have also centered around the American Lung Association and furthering the cause of adoption. With an adopted daughter and as an adopted child himself, Trent has a strong passion in this area. Trent and Julie have been married for 16 years and they have three children: Ben, Brice and Brooke.
