Walkers of all ages are invited to participate in Golden Harvest Food Bank’s Hunger Awareness Walk scheduled for Saturday, September 6th from 9:00am to 11:00am at H. Odell Weeks walking track. More than 500 participants are anticipated to attend. Individuals and teams include representatives from Golden Harvest’s partner agencies in Aiken County, sponsoring and supporting businesses, and civic, church and school groups. Mayor Fred Cavanaugh will open the walk at 9:00 a.m. Other special participants include Stephanie Rozier- Miss Teen United States 2008, Ashley Witt - Miss South Carolina Junior Teen United States 2008, and Mrs. Gariane Gunter, MD - Mrs. United States 2008.
