DANCE AUGUSTA & Augusta Ballet School present
THE NUTCRACKER

Friday, November 28th, 7pm
Saturday, November 29th, 1 & 5pm
Sunday, November 30th, 1 & 5pm

This is THE Nutcracker production that founder emeritus, Ron Colton, brought to Augusta in 1971.

DANCE AUGUSTA's 2008 presentation of the beloved Nutcracker will premiere the stunning new Snow scenic backdrop conceived and created by renowned artist Nancy Jaramillo of Greenville, SC. Jaramillo's ethereal vision of this magical, wintry night enhances the lovely "Waltz of the Snowflakes" and will grace Nutcracker's stage for many years to come. Jaramillo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan and shows in major exhibitions throughout the United States and South America.

Nutcracker's featured Guest Artists will be Rider Vierling and Kristy Tancred who both formerly danced in Augusta productions. They are currently dancing professionally in Nashville, TN. Also appearing will be Morgan Hulen and Amanda Dielh, currently with the Louisville Ballet. Both couples will share the roles of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her handsome Cavalier. Chris Pennix, a former member of the North Carolina Dance Theater, will perform in the role of Tea.

DANCE AUGUSTA will also offer special Nutcracker shows to Richmond County Title One schools in an effort to bring under privileged children to the theater to experience the wonders of dance and the warmth of the Holiday Season.
