Hundreds come to cast their vote at Julian Smith Casino

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Richmond County Board of Elections says voter turnout overall was low Tuesday, as expected. That wasn't the case at some precincts like Julian Smith Casino. This polling place traditionally gets bigger turnout. Hundreds are voting for the District 1 Augusta Commission seat. "You're always going to have areas that vote more than others and Julian Smith is one of those areas where the people come out. You compound that with the fact that you have a four way race for Commission going on there; there's a reason for people to get out and vote," said Lynn Bailey with the Richmond County Board of Elections.
