Many Christians learn through weekly worship and Bible study, but many people are turning to an additional resource in Augusta.
The Augusta School of Biblical Studies is an interdenominational, satellite campus of the American University of Biblical Studies.
Students are drawn to the school for many reasons.
“I learned a whole lot more than I ever thought I would learn and the neat thing is, I've been sharing it with people in my church,” said Julia Bronson.
“In my day to day works and people I come in contact with I want to be able to present to them a good case they need to know the Lord,” said Marion Davis.
Bronson and Davis wanted to dive deeper into the Christian faith; they find what they're looking for in classes at The Augusta School of Biblical Studies.
“Working toward a degree hopefully I'll go to seminary somewhere. I needed something to freshen me up, to get me ready for that,” said Davis.
“You don't have to have a plan in mind you don't have to be planning for ministry or a mission field it can just be curiosity and the school accepts anyone any denomination, faith or no faith,” said Bronson.
Classes are just one night per week. Bronson is a registered nurse and Davis owns a construction company which goes to show the doors are open to anyone who can fit it into their schedule.
“It's just a learning experience a chance to come and find out what the Bible is all about so I think even non believers might be interested in coming and seeing what all the Bible does entail,” Bronson said .
“It helped me a lot because I was able to learn traditional denominations sometimes get in the way of really worshipping the Lord so it's been a good school for me,” Davis said.
The Augusta School of Biblical Studies offers several choices depending on the level of study you're looking for.
Bronson has been taking courses for 11 years and Davis has been going to the school for about two and a half years.
Those interested can sit-in on classes or enroll and work toward several types of degrees.
