With the rate of foreclosures high and sellers having trouble getting buyers for their homes, some people are turning to a Catholic saint in an effort to sell their homes.

Sales of St. Joseph statues have increased dramatically.

In the Catholic Church, St. Joseph is the patron saint of carpentry...and realtors.

A St. Joseph home sales kit is even available, complete with instructions.

It's said that if one buries a statue of St. Joseph in the yard, a home sale is soon to follow.
Some people have reported success with the method, but some aren't convinced it works.

"I decided to give it a try, and it worked," homeowner Bobby Coffey said.

Realtor Gregg Edwards, however, said it's most important to have a real estate agent in whom you believe.
