NBC Augusta is searching for Augusta's Biggest Loser. For the 10 contestants who weighed in today, it's a long road ahead.

Priscilla Post weighed in at 347 pounds -- she says that's the most she's ever weighed.

"People stare at me sometimes -- and it's hard for me to tie my shoes," Post said.

And Kurt Boyd is worried how his weight affects others.

" I have young children at home and want be here a little longer, see them grow up," Boyd said.

He -- and his wife Jessica have special insight into obesity's effects.

"I work in health care and he works in the funeral business -- so we see death every day and we're not ready for that," said Jessica Boyd.

Each of the ten contestants has their own reason to lose big -- and trainer Robert Barrieu is ready to help.

"The objective is to burn off more calories than you take in," he said.

The contestants have a lot of heavy lifting ahead of them, the trainers expect to see them working out six days a week for the next seven months.

"Everything from advanced cardio routines, different types of strength training: geared to pushing people to their limit and a little beyond. It's not the easiest thing," said Barrieu.

It's something the contestants say they're ready for.

"I wanna weigh about 150 at my final goal," said Post.

It's a finish line a long way off, but this is a marathon.
