AUGUSTA Ga.- In Richmond and Columbia Counties early voting ends today...but advance voting starts Monday.

You'll be able to advance vote Monday through Friday.

NBC Augusta 26 News received several good questions about the difference between early and advanced voting.

NBC Augusta 26 News has learned the two are basically the same.

But during advanced voting, there are more poll locations and extended hours.

“I think the reason the law was passed was just to give voters more options and make it more convenient for voters to cast a ballot,” said Lynn Bailey with the Richmond County Board of Elections

In Richmond County, you can cast your ballot...starting Monday...at the Municipal Building, the Henry Brigham Center and the Warren Road Center.

Voting starts at 8:30 a.m. and goes until 6p.m.

In Columbia County, you can vote at the Board of Elections, Savannah Rapids Pavilion and Patriots Park.

Voting is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday...on Friday they'll stay open until 6 p.m.

When you go to vote in Georgia, remember to take a photo I-D.

I'm glad someone asked you that question. No one else I questioned about it casually, knew.
