AUGUSTA, Ga.- It's not a numbers game, but we're stamping out postal codes in this edition of "Good Question".
Bonnie who lives in Martinez, tells us when she searches for her zip code it shows up as Augusta.
She wants to know why it does NOT match the city she actually lives in?
NBC Augusta 26 News checked with Augusta's Postmaster. We're told it's based on where post office branches are located.
Augusta covers Martinez, that's why the town's 30907 shows up as an Augusta address.
Six different zip codes are covered by Augusta's post office. The codes are 30901, 30904, 30905, 30906, 30907 and 30909.
The postmaster says it's not uncommon for metro cities to cover postal service in nearby smaller towns.
