There are outdoor activities that you can do that can put you at risk for food poisoning. Visiting a farm or petting zoo, traveling outside the US,
camping, drinking untreated water, and picnics are all activities you should try and avoid.

There are different symptoms for different types of food poisoning. The symptoms start 30 minutes to four hours after eating contaminated egg/potato salad, sandwiches, filled pastries, meats and cheese.
Stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea usually lasts 1-2 days.

Ways to prevent food poisoning are: proper hand washing techniques proper cooking and avoid cross contamination.

If you decide to have a picnic then you should put the food in a cooler with lots of ice.
