Augusta mom wants to be Augusta's Biggest Loser to make her daughter proud

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Jennifer Goad knows words can hurt, few worse than her daughter's.

"She said, mom am I going to look like you when I grow up? I said 'yes you're my kid, of course you're gonna look like me.' She said 'mom I don't wanna look like you, I wanna look like Nana'," said Goad.

Goad says her 6-year-old spoke those words, because she weighs 279 pounds.

"I'd love to be able to go out and have fun without having to worry if people are looking at me from the wrong angle, or walk into the store and be able to shop there," said Goad.

The single mom has been walking with extra weight all her life. But now she's ready to take it off. She's eating healthier and she recently did her first workout to become Augusta's Biggest Loser.

And she vows not to quit for the little girl she loves most.

Goad says she'd be happy at a size 12 or anything less than that.
