AIKEN, S.C. - This week’s NBC Augusta 26 News Restaurant Report Card includes three perfect scores and three follow-up inspections.

Taqueria Y Tienda La Mexicana on York Street in Aiken scored a 100.

Waffle House on Whisky Road in Aiken also received a perfect score.

The third 100 is Dino's Chicago Express on Washington Road in Evans.

The three lowest scores this week are in Columbia County.

Blimpie on Appling-Harlem Highway in Appling scored a 74.

Inspectors took points off for food not being covered properly, employees not wearing gloves and food not being kept at proper temperatures.

Blimpie on Furys Ferry Road in Evans scored a 76.

Inspectors found employees not wearing hair restraints, floors not cleaned and employees not washing their hands properly.

Another Evans restaurant, Mellow Mushroom on Washington Road scored a 77.

Violations included employees not wearing hair restraints, foods not stored properly and tables not being properly cleaned.

There are three follow-up inspections.

Last week Huddle House on Richland Avenue in Aiken scored 82.

This week on re-inspection they received an 83.

Happy China on Columbia Road in Martinez went from a 76 to an 82.

Tako Sushi on Town Park Lane in Evans had a 73.

This week they moved up 7 points to an 80.

I love this report! Keep up the great work. Sometimes it's not a stomach virus. It's food poisoning. This report helps keep the consumer informed, before we had no line of defense. Small children and older adults have often been effected. Again Thanks, C. Hampton Augusta, GA

I've seen a cook touch raw meat and then prepare toast. Shouldn't all cooks wear gloves, especially when touching raw meat. Please investigate for the general public.

They can touch raw meat with bare hands because they are going to cook the meat. They are required to wear gloves for any ready to eat food. Ready to eat meaning it is ready to be served: toast, tomatoes, lettuce on your burger, etc. A lot of these people just don't know. They think are are doing good by wearing gloves, but if they just put some raw chicken on the grill while wearing gloves, then they use the same gloves to cut your BLT they just cross contaminated that sandwich.
