AUGUSTA, Ga. - This week’s Restaurant Report Card has four high scores.

Larry's Giant Subs on 15th Street in downtown Augusta came in with a 100.

In Aiken, New China on East Gate Drive also got a 100.

Moe's Southwestern Grill at 2805 Washington Road in Augusta and Subway at 2834 Washington Road both scored 99s.

Our lowest scores of the week include the Huddle House on Industrial Park Road in Evans.

They got a 79 for items not covered in coolers, employees not properly washing hands and the dishwasher didn't reach proper temperature.

Inspectors gave Waffle House at 4128 Washington Road in Evans an 83.

Points were taken off for several items not properly covered, mold inside of the ice machine and mold inside the fountain drink nozzle.

Finally, Evergreen Buffet on York Street in Aiken received an 84.

Inspectors found food kept at improper temperatures, employees not washing hands properly and food not properly covered.

Please keep in mind that each score is based on the day the inspector went to that restaurant.

This week's scores are for March 2nd through the 6th.

You're fixing to see a whole lot of scores go down. The state is going thru a standardization process which is suppossed to put inspectors across the state on the same level of detail during their inspections. You don't know the half of it of how unreliable those scores are. There is one place downtown Augusta with a score in the 40's, up and still operating. A low score is probably accurate in most cases, but a high score should not always be trusted. Some inspectors are sorry.
