AUGUSTA, Ga. - This week’s NBC Augusta 26 News Restaurant Report Card includes five perfect scores and showcases Amici Italian Café in Augusta.

Our lowest scores of the week are China City on Deans Bridge Road in Augusta scored a 70.

Points were taken off for dirty cloths stored on the food prep table, a fly swatter next to uncovered food and food kept at improper temperatures.

Varuvel India Bread Company in Grovetown scored a 77.

Inspectors found floors needed proper cleaning, employees not wearing hair restraints and cookware stored on the floor.

Finally, Shannon's on Shartom Drive in Augusta rolls in with an 82. This is a follow-up inspection but they still landed in the lowest scores.

Some of their violations, food kept at improper temperatures, utensil drawers needed cleaning and their back doors needed to be fixed to prevent rodents from entering the restaurant.

There are five perfect scores, two out of Columbia County.

Ming House Express Restaurant and Salsa's Mexican Grill, both in Martinez received 100s.

In Aiken County, Duke's Bar -B-Que in Aiken, Popeye's Chicken at 201 Main Street in New Ellenton and Waffle House at 1117 West Martintown Road in North Augusta, all received perfect scores.

The scores are based on the day the health inspector went to each restaurant.

This week's scores are for May 25 - 29.

I went to Godfathers on post one day and my wife found a very very moldy piece of cucumber in the salad bar. Funny thing is....well never mind. I wanna know who inspects them too. My wife was even more interested in who checks them. I have heard a lot of bad things about other places on post. It seems like a federal installation would have strict policies.

Why can't you inspect resturants on Fort Gordon the food inspectors there aren't doing such a good job seeing as to how many people go to the hospital sick from Ft. Gordon resturants.
