EVANS, Ga. - NBC Augusta 26 News has just learned test results have come back negative for a patient who had a gastrointestinal procedure done at Evans Surgery Center. It's a story 26 News broke first earlier this month.

Evans Surgery Center told 1,300 patients to get tested for hepatitis and HIV after the center found out medical equipment hadn't been sterilized properly.

26 News spoke to Jacquiline Barber the day she got tested. Her results have come back negative, but the center has asked her to get tested again in three months.

Isn't all of the testing optional and voluntary? If this woman's tests are negative now, why worry they wouldn't remain that way in 3 months?
