James Freeman toured the damage to his Allendale County home after a tornado came knocking at his front door.

"Both of my sheds were blown away," Freeman said.

Freeman estimates between $50,000 and $60,000 in damages. A positive attitude keeps him smiling.

"I've got a roof over my head...everyone is safe," Freeman said.

Just minutes away on the same path of destruction Maude Douglas looks on as friends and family try to salvage her belongs. The 83-year-old lost everything in an instant as her mobile home was torn to shreds.

"It's just a bad feeling, it's hard," Douglas said.

On the same road in the same neighborhood Douglas is not alone. Her story plays out over and over again. The trees and debris tell the tale of what happened there.

"There was nothing left. The trailer was gone, everything was gone," said Ed Dawson, resident.

"I know it's gone, but the Lord's gonna take care of me," Douglas said.

EMA workers say most of the county's cell phone service is down because the tornado knocked down a cell tower.
