If you love steak, there's a new kitchen in town.
Evans town, that is.
It's called Stonecrest Southern Steakhouse.
Lawrence Hammond, the restaurant's Chief Operating Officer, says,
"I think we have a really good cowboy cut, 22 ounces, a good porterhouse along with a one pound New York strip."
Aiming for palate perfection, Stonecrest only uses meat that is aged 4 weeks, which is broiled at 1600 degrees to seal in the juices.
Stonecrest is also serving up fresh seafood and fine wine,
in a relaxing, rustic atmosphere.
Hammond adds, "We tried to create a lodge atmosphere on the outside, so when you come in, you'll see kind of the Ritz Carlton/Greensboro type look. On the inside, an old Charleston home with warm decorations and a warm comfortable look."
After such a tasty treat, you'll probably want to jump. You may want to
jump around like a monkey, at Monkey Joe's. It opens November 3rd in the new Earth Fare shopping center in Martinez.
There, you can wear out the kids, and the parents, with a
giant inflatable obstacle course and slides of all heights and speeds.
"Every one of the 9 slides at Monkey Joe's has its own blower. Check this one out, it's 18 feet tall, and it has 4 blowers. They have to run continuously. That way, kids of all ages, including adults like myself, can enjoy the slide."
If parents aren't in the mood to follow their kids down a steep incline, they can still be entertained.
Monkey Joe's co-owner Daniel Dykstra says, "We offer a great parent's area where we have plasma TV's, we have wireless. We also have 2 dedicated computers for parents."
Dykstra also says, safety is a major priority at Monkey Joe's.
There's only one entrance and exit. Everything is monitored by security cameras, and a cleaning crew will sanitize the play areas every week.
That's reassuring since there have been so many reports of staph infections recently.
