Augusta loves to eat out and now there's one more option on the menu.

Just ride down Washington Road to Whole Life Ministries’ new restaurant, Honey From The Rock.

The Cafe is getting lots of praise in its first official week of business.

“I like the food, the atmosphere is really great, people are fantastic they're always smiling, bringing you your tea, helping with your trays,” Mary Williams said.

“To come into a serene environment, you can feel the peace, you can feel the warmth, it just feels great to be here,” Debra Minor said.

“We were told when we came here it would be a treat and I found it to be true.” Sarah Morris said.

Dr. Sandra Kennedy, pastor and founder of Whole Life Ministries, says the restaurant was a part of the vision she had for the church 35 years ago.

“Happy faces and wonderful food! People are excited about being here; we're so excited God has given us this opportunity and to see it come to pass,” Kennedy said.

Guests at Honey From the Rock Cafe can fill up on a warm, welcoming environment, fresh soul food and if they still have room, there's also homemade ice cream.

“We churn it ourselves! It's just, you think you've gone back sitting with your family on the porch,” Kennedy said.

The cafe is also a source of soul food in the spiritual sense, Dr. Kennedy calls it's an outreach ministry to the city.

“We've had it happen every day. People come in, need prayer, want prayer, we certainly will stop what we're doing and pray for them and encourage them and reach out to people any way we can,” Kennedy said.

Honey From the Rock is open weekdays for breakfast and lunch, with different specials every day.

Dr. Kennedy says they also want to expand their food services to catering in the future.
