Mars Inc. To Make A Sweet Deal With WrigleyMars Inc., the maker of M&M, Snickers and other candies, announced Monday that it's close to a deal to acquire W.M. Wrigley, Jr. company. Under the agreement Wrigley, a world leader in chewing gum, will become a separate subsidiary of mars. The 22 billion dollar deal would create a new confectionary giant...which could force other snack companies to merge, in order to compete. Billionaire Warren Buffett, who already owns a candy company, is helping finance the transaction for mars. |
