Restaurants Cut Portions In Response To Slower Economy

By NBC Augusta Staff

NBC Augusta has learned the slow economy is forcing many restaurants to cut their portion sizes.

Chains like T.G.I. Friday's and Quizno's are now offering smaller, cheaper versions on some of their menu items.

Officials with the chains say the move is helping profits stay
up because diners buying smaller entrees are more likely to add appetizers and desserts to their meals.
