Kroger adds Georgia and South Carolina stores to beef recall

By NBCAugusta Producers

Kroger is expanding its beef recall to more than 20-states, because some of its ground beef products may be contaminated with e-coli.

The grocery chain is now recalling Private Selection Natural ground beef sold in 16 oz. packages that were in the self-service meat case.

The product was available at all Kroger stores including those in Georgia and South Carolina. The “sell by” dates for this product is July 11 through July 21, 2008.

Kroger first announced a recall last week for stores in Michigan and parts of Ohio after more than 30 people reported becoming sick.
