Bosch to slash production, cut jobs at S.C. plants
ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - German auto parts supplier Robert Bosch GmbH says it has offered voluntary severance packages to workers at A spokeswoman for Bosch in Detroit told The Independent-Mail of Anderson for a story Wednesday that employees in Anderson have until Jan. 9 to decide whether to take the offer. Employees in North Charleston got their offers earlier and have until week's end to decide. Bosch spokeswoman Becky MacDonald also says this year's holiday shutdowns will be a few days longer than normal. Bosch employs 1,380 workers at its Anderson plant and 2,100 employees at North Charleston. The company also has said it would reduce working hours for some of its 66,000 workers at German plants.
