NBC NEWS - Despite companies across the nation laying off thousands of workers, there are still businesses making money in this slow economy.

At Domino's Pizza they're making a lot of dough.

"We just finished our sixth consecutive month of making more money than the previous month here in Montgomery County so we're really excited about the results we've been having," said Domino's regional director Jim Moran.

Despite the downturn in the economy, Domino's has seen a steady rise in the pizza making business.

"I think people are coming here for the value. When you break it down in terms of per person how much it costs to feed your family for a delivery of pizza it works out to be very economical," Moran added.

Despite falling profits, bankruptcies, and store closings, some businesses are faring well.

Netflix, an online DVD rental service, is signing up hundreds of thousands of new subscribers.

Among the others doing well in the sour economy are sweets maker Hershey's, Amazon, and GameStop, where you can buy new and used video games.

"You can spend money on things like going bowling or other entertainment, movies, but games you can continually do it so I guess it would be cheaper in the long run," said GameStop customer Edward Hall.

While people may not be dining out as much they are dishing out money to eat at McDonald's.

Many are coming for the cheap eats at places where you can get full without emptying your wallet.
