AUGUSTA, Ga. - The day after Thanksgiving is known as Black Friday - one of the busiest shopping days. Some Augusta businesses are offering Black Friday sales early this year.
If you are looking for great deals on flatscreen TVs, clothes and lots of other items you should go shopping this weekend.
"I'm very excited," said Janice Neskovik, shopper.
"It's a must win day for retailers."
Some businesses are trying to lure shoppers in by previewing some of their Black Friday specials.
"Black Friday, there's so many sales the crowds are bad. We are out here getting our shopping done early because there are so many good deals," said one shopper.
Sears has been offering its day after Thanksgiving sales for the past three weekends.
“We wanted to give the customer a chance to shop without dealing with the crowds and get the same great prices offered that morning," said Roger Pope, Sears.
Saturday, customers can take advantage of the store's doorbuster items and get more than 50 percent off on some tools and flatscreens.
Best Buy also slashed its prices.
"When you have millions coming in, you like to spread that out a little bit allowing more time with our customers. We want to help our customers the best way we can," said Steve Maxcy, Best Buy.
Customers say the timing couldn't be better.
"I think sales are going to be down because of the economy because a lot of people will be out of a job so it's good to have sales.."
"We may not see the big dollar buy that we've seen in the past but customers still give for Christmas," said Pope.
You can preview the Black Friday sale items online. Both stores are opening a little early this weekend so you can cash in on those deals.
Sears will open its doors at 7 a.m. Saturday. Best Buy is opening an hour earlier and closing an hour later.
