Will New Stores At Augusta Mall Keep Shoppers Away From Other Retailers In The Area?

Several new stores will open at Augusta's Mall soon, but could it mean doom for other commercial projects in the area?

Plans to build Mullins Crossing 2 a commercial development in Columbia County were announced more than two years ago. Today little progress can be seen.

We asked Columbia County leaders if the mall was causing problems for the project.

"I don't think what's happening in Richmond County and at the mall is will affect it we're going to have some commercial," said Kevin Fort.

Leaders say the developer plans to start construction on Mullins Crossing 2 some time in 2008.
