The Augusta Lynx are still dismissing rumors that the team is disbanding, but the team does admit they are having financial troubles.

Friday the general manager and the Augusta Lynx coach held a news conference and they're asking the community to help.

They say they need a sponsor because they're struggling to even finish the season out.

"With some events that occurred three or four weeks ago, we had to step up the process to look for people to become partners or investors with us in this operation." said Dan Troutman, Augusta Lynx General Manager.

Wednesday a Charlotte newspaper reported that the Augusta Lynx were going to be disbanded, but the report was incorrect.

The Lynx played the Charlotte Checkers Saturday at the James Brown Arena.
