Update: FBI says former employee admits to stealing from Burke County bank

The FBI says a former bank employee has admitted to stealing more than half a million dollars from the Burke County bank where she worked.

According to FBI, Linda Burch told investigators she stole money from the bank for more than 18 years.

Burch was a bookkeeper for the First National Bank in Waynesboro.

Last month, NBC Augusta told you about Burch confessing to the thefts in front of her church congregation.

Burch has been fired from the bank. The FBI is waiting to get an official amount before charging her.
