The girlfriend of a Martinez man, who was killed early Sunday morning, is speaking out about the deadly shooting.
Richmond County investigators say an argument between Richard Paprocki, 36 of Martinez and Terry Ramsey, 40 of Augusta, quickly escalated ending with Ramsey shooting Paprocki to death, firing as many as nine rounds at him.
Paprocki's girlfriend Daniela Touch says the two men were drinking at Ramsey's home on Gordon Highway when things turned violent.
“Richie always used to say, 'I’m 7 foot and bullet proof,’ ” recalls Touch. “He was very imposing and a lot of people were scared of him just because of the way he presented himself. He was the sweetest guy, but he wouldn't take any crap off anybody either.”
Ramsey and Paprocki were friends that would go out to bars and even help each other move, reasons why Touch says it's hard to believe the two would turn on one and other.
“That's what gets me. Why did he have to kill him?” said Touch.
Touch says the she and Paprocki had planned on getting married and starting a business down in Florida.
“He always took care of me and watched over me,” said Touch. “We were more than soul mates. We were a counterpoint for each other. It's hard now, but I guess he can still watch over me, just in a different way.”
Ramsey is in the Richmond County Jail charged with murder and possession of a firearm.
He is being held without bond.
