Neumar case surrounding husband's death in Florida closed

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Florida police say they've closed an investigation into the suspicious death of the third husband of a Georgia grandmother who has left a trail of five dead husbands.

A sheriff's spokeswoman in Monroe County, Fla., says the case is too old and the investigation would cost too much.

Nelos Sills' 1965 death was ruled a suicide. Navy records obtained by the AP show Sills may have been shot twice, not once as his widow had told police. The number could help determine if the death was suicide or homicide. No autopsy was performed.

Seventy-six-year-old Betty Neumar was arrested in June arrest in
North Carolina in the 1986 death of her fourth husband. Since then,
police have been re-examining the deaths of her first child and three of her other husbands, though she faces no charges in those cases.

Uh...why can't they just give her a lie detector test? It would give some idea! Duh!
