Murder suspect missing from Augusta hospital

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Richmond County investigators say Terrance Riley walked out of the MCGHealth and is now missing.

Riley is charged with murdering a man last week during a home invasion in Ridge Spring, South Carolina.

Riley had been shot during the home invasion and was critically injured. Three other people including Riley's son are in jail for the same crime.

Aiken County Sheriff's Capt. Troy Elwell said Riley was allowed
outside to smoke a cigarette and did not return. Elwell says Riley
was shot three times and likely needs a wheelchair.

Authorities say Jerry Tyler was shot Friday after four men
kicked in the door of his Aiken home. Deputies think all four men
shot at Tyler, and Riley was wounded by a fellow robber.

Richmond and Aiken County deputies are working to locate Riley.

Ive never worked at MCG but in Columbia they usually did not put police guards on city "suspects" they only arrested them at discharge. It was really spooky sometimes to pass their rooms and see all the "friends" that came to visit. Maybe it's changed or maybe it's different in GA.

Its so sad a day when a known killer goes outside for a needed smoke only to take off and not a soul around to stop him. Now all of the public must live in fear of this animal once again, good grief, change the name of the police station, perhaps they wanna be known as the keystone cops. Really is a dang shame, I hope and pray nobodyelse is hurt or worse by this act of total negligence shown on all of your parts.

I think the blame lays all around. One the police for not putting a gaurd on him and two MCG staff for allowing this animal to go out for a smoke. Practice commen sense please

Why was he not guarded at the hospital?????????????? He was/or should be considered a prisoner! WOW! On the streets now to rob, kill somebody else. When they find him, they should just finish him off. Have no regard, look what he has exposed his son to! Put him in a headlock and shave off those dreads!
