Suspect identified in North Augusta bank robbery

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C.- North Augusta Public Safety officers say they have identified the man wanted for robbing the Wachovia Bank on Georgia Avenue a week ago.

Witnesses say the suspect, Sherrod Miller of Detroit, gave the teller a note which said "Give me the money now".

Investigators tell NBC Augusta 26 News the dye pack exploded as Miller ran from the bank.

He was last seen driving a burgundy 1993 Mercury with a Michigan tag.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Augusta Public Safety at (803) 279-2121.

Times are tough when Detroit thugs have to come south to rob banks. I guess it's difficult to break into the field up there, too. Rumor has it that you have to queue up to raid banks in the Motor City.
