NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - A woman says her quick thinking saved her life.

Two men broke into her home on Audubon Circle in North Augusta.

Bonnie Randolph says she heard a bang and thought something fell off the shelf Wednesday night. It turns out, it was two people breaking into her home!

"I'm so thankful. I could be dead or hurt," said Randolph, homeowner.

But those thoughts weren't running through Randolph's head when she found two strangers standing inside her home. Randolph says she usually places a chair in front of her door so she could hear if someone tried to break into her house. When she heard noise Wednesday night she walked to the door. Randolph says she just started screaming.

“I screamed, Charles get the gun. Charles get the gun. I wanted them to think I wasn’t by myself. Then I yelled, I got the gun. I got the gun,” said Randolph.

That's when the intruders took off running without taking anything or hurting Randolph. Now she says she's thinking about getting an alarm system and better doors to keep unwanted guests away.

Investigators say this is one of two home invasions in Aiken County Wednesday night. Four men with guns broke into a home on Bradby Lane in downtown Aiken. Investigators tell us no one was hurt and they're sure if anything was taken from the home.

New doors and alarms are nice, but so are DEADBOLTS!! Glad she prevailed. All it took was the quick shot of the open door for me to know why her home was chosen. 3 seconds with a credit card or butter knife is all it takes w/o a deadbolt...

Jeff I think it is time that you grow a pair. She should arm herself with a firearm and the knowledge of how to use it. I am glad that she was not harmed. But statements made in this article can be harmful.

Poker Face is going to get people killed with advice like that. She did the correct thing. The US has a higher fatality rate from non-police related gunshot deaths than ALL countries in the EU combined!
