Crime can happen anywhere and that would include Columbia County. A lot of criminals are starting to show up over here because this is where they have more opportunities to do their dirt. All the citizens of Columbia County need to use common sense and not think that because it has been relatively safe in the past it still is today. Lock your doors and watch your backs. Criminals are always looking for an easy target....even in Columbia County.

Mr. Anonymous I have relatives that work for Columbia County. They have plenty of help, plenty of time is spent in each area of the county. Although everyone could use more help, our men and women do a great job. The area in general is a safe area. I will go through any area of Columbia County with my car doors unlocked. Can't say that about Richmond County!

Evans High School was locked down for a while because of this. That's a couple of miles away, but better safe than sorry I guess. A high-speed chase, or hostage situation (for example) could endanger people for miles. Best to keep the kids off the roads I guess.

That area is becoming a rough neighborhood. We need more deputy patrols there. It will discourage travelers from using the hotels/motels there.
