MARTINEZ, Ga. - Columbia County Sheriff's deputies say car break-ins are constant across the area.

One of the latest reported was off Evans to Lock Road in Martinez Thursday morning.

Frank Neal says he woke up to find his wife's car ransacked with hundreds of dollars worth of Christmas toys taken.

“It's just kinda disheartening to work all your life to try to accumulate something to have somebody take your stuff,” said Neal.

Several more car break-ins were reported Wednesday night in the non-gated area of the Westlake subdivision.

Anyone with sense will not keep any valuables in eye view these crooks will steal grease out of the fried chicken, that car breakin is number crime from down south and it hard for the police to catch them crooks so do not leave valuable in eye veiw. In Florida they say at store parking lots gone in 60 seconds so keep valuable out of eye veiw.

Our car is our property just like our house, and if they are in the trunk, not in visible site, we should be able to keep our stuff their without having to worry. Maybe they had them there to hide from children, who ransack the house looking for Christmas gifts.

The only person to blame is the thief-and I hope he/she is caught. But you have to use a little common sense-don't leave important items in a car.

I can't believe how many people are blaming the victims for putting the items in the car! They should have been able to leave them on their front porch without fear of someone taking them. It is not their fault someone else stole their property. Was it the best/safest place for the items NO, but I think some of you are missing the point!

The robber is the only one to blame in this incident. People have a right to put their gifts whereever they want. I'm sure a lesson has been learned on the victim's part. Don't blame the victim!
