Candidates are making a final push before Tuesday's Georgia primary. The Republican nomination for the District 10 U.S. House seat is among the races. Incumbent Paul Broun is being challenged by state lawmaker Barry Fleming.

Congressman Paul Broun has been going door to door in Columbia County, hoping voters will send him back to Washington. It's a one-on-one town hall meeting to share his plan to improve the struggling economy.

“Right now Congress is spending our grandchildren's future we cannot continue to do so. We have to stop the spending,” he said.

But he will have to fight off challenger Barry Fleming first. Fleming is the Georgia State Representative for District 117. He says his 10 years of leadership experience as a state legislator makes him the best choice.

“Things are not going well in Washington, DC. The Republican party has lost its way and it's part it lack of leadership,” he said.

Broun says he wants to focus on illegal immigration, cutting taxes and becoming less dependent on foreign oil. He recently co-sponsored a bill to suspend the federal gas tax during the summer.

“We need to open two nuclear reactors down at Plant Vogtle. We need to concentrate on using alternative fuel whether it is hybrid, whether it's wind or solar,” Broun said.

Fleming says he'll work at reforming Social Security and taxes. He says as state lawmaker he worked to help cut $2 billion in taxes.

“That's exactly what we need to do at the federal level, reform taxes, cut taxes and we'd see an economic splurge,” he said.

While many say Fleming has run a negative campaign against Broun, he disagrees. He says he’s shedding light on what he says is Broun's flawed record.

“He's voted against cracking down on child pornography, against veteran benefits and against modernizing the 911 system,” Fleming said.

“It's been very negative on his side. We've tried to run a high level campaign talking about the issues. Unfortunately, he's decided to distort a lot of my votes,” Broun said.

Tuesday's primary winner will face Democratic candidate Bobby Saxon in November's general election. The former Iraq war veteran and business owner says he wants to focus on pulling troops out of Iraq and education.

Paul Broun has been endorsed by Georgia Right to Life and the NRA. He's also been endorsed by immigration groups, senior citizen groups, and women's groups. If anyone still has a question as to who they should vote for, they only need to look at Broun's endorsements.
