It'll be interesting this week to see if John McCain continues to hammer Barack Obama's foreign policy and whether Obama shoots back. It was the central issue during Obama's Mideast trip and on this weekend's talk shows.

Derailed from his economic message, John McCain was still on defense Sunday, talking less about his own agenda and more about Barack Obama.

Senator Barack Obama left a Chicago hospital last night, recovering from a minor basketball injury and John McCain's attacks on his visit abroad.

One Republican called the ad inappropriate.

Nebraska Republican Senator Chuck Hagel said on "Face The Nation" "I think John is treading on some very thin ground here when he impugns motives and when we start to get into, You're less patriotic than me. I'm more patriotic ... John's better than that."

McCain continues to hammer away at Obama's plan to get U.S. troops out of Iraq in 16 months and focus on Afghanistan.

Sen. McCain said, on CNN's Late Edition, "I don't question Senator Obama's patriotism. I'm sure that he's a very patriotic American. I question his judgment because he lacks experience and knowledge."

This week, both are hoping to focus on the economy, yet Obama seems to be backing off his promise to consider a series of town hall meetings with McCain.

Sen. Obama said "at a certain point, they become, I think, less of a serious exchange of ideas and rather they have, they become competing talking points or, or press releases."

There are three debates scheduled starting in September.
