Rapper expects limited negative reaction to pro-Obama song

ATLANTA (AP) - One political observer doubts there will be much
long-term fallout from the Ludacris song that praises Democratic
candidate Barack Obama -- and disses rivals Hillary Rodham Clinton
and John McCain.

John McWhorter is a senior fellow at the conservative think
tank, the Manhattan Institute. And he says the rap song, and
reaction to it, should come as no surprise. He notes rap artists
tend to be clever and confrontational. But he says it's unlikely
the song will resonate with the electorate come November.

Many younger voters who have been drawn to the Obama campaign
may be less likely than traditional voters to get their campaign
news from the type of mainstream news sources that might focus on
the Ludacris song as a possible campaign issue.
