AIKEN, S.C.- You'll find them on the ballot when you vote on November 4, but you won't see them on the campaign trail. We're talking about proposed constitutional amendments.

Voters in South Carolina will decide on three. Sometimes the wording is a bit confusing on amendment questions.

Amendment one pertains to the legal age unmarried women can consent to sex in South Carolina. The law currently states, unmarried women 14 and older can consent to sexual intercourse. If you vote yes to Amendment one it would allow the legislature to set the age of consent. If you vote no, it would leave the current law in place.

Amendment 2 deals with benefits and funding of public state employees who are retiring from state government and school districts. The amendment relates to how the money in retirement trust funds may be invested. A yes vote would give the state government the option to invest these funds in stocks. If you decide to vote no, the state government would not be allowed to invest these funds in any kind of equity securities or stocks.

Amendment three is the same as Amendment 2, except it applies to retirement benefits at the local government level.
