Miley Ray Cyrus Apologizes For 'Artistic' Photos
(NBC)- Miley Ray Cyrus is apologizing to fans for her photo spread in Vanity Fair. The spread includes a photo of the 15-year-old wrapped in what appears to be a satin bedsheet. In a written statement, Cyrus says she "took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic', but now that she sees the photos, she's "so embarrassed." The Disney Channel, which airs Cyrus' TV show "Hannah Montana," is also critical of the magazine, and says "a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines." The photos appear in Vanity Fair's upcoming issue, on stands nationwide May 6th. The photos were taken by renowned celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.
