Ellen Says She Will Marry Girlfriend

(NBC News)- Ellen Degeneres plans to take advantage of California's new policy allowing gay marriages.

During her show's taping on Thursday, an audience member said the talk show host made it clear that she's tying the knot with longtime girlfriend Portia de Rossi.

Portia was there and the studio audience erupted with a standing ovation.

That episode of the "Ellen Degeneres Show" aired Friday.
