AUGUSTA, Ga. - Kids of all ages left Fort Discovery today, thinking they could accomplish anything!
Lancaster, South Carolina native Charlie Duke told them about his adventures as a fighter pilot and astronaut.
During the Apollo 16 mission in 1972, Duke became the
10th person to walk on the moon.
Duke also hopes students of today will shoot for the stars.
"A lot of kids here today. Hopefully, motivate them.
Who knows? Some future scientists might be up there, get motivated and will have a great contribution to our country in the future."
Merrill Lynch brought Duke to Augusta to inspire its clients.
Duke says he hopes the U.S. will continue to fund
space missions since they often lead to breakthroughs in technology.
