NASHVILLE - It was a big night at the Country Music Association Awards in Nashville Wednesday night. Lady Antebellum won two awards. Two members of the group are from Augusta.
Lady Antebellum also won for Single of the Year for the song "I Run to You". Group members Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood are from Augusta and graduated from the University of Georgia.
Lady Antebellum beat out North Georgia’s the Zac Brown Band, Little Big Town (which includes a Georgian), Rascal Flatts and the Eagles.
Atlanta’s own Sugarland also won vocal duo of the year for the third year in a row.
