Burke County Looking For Hardware Store Gunman

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is searching for an armed robber.

Investigators tell NBC Augusta the robber shot a hardware store employee several times while robbing a store in Burke County.

It happened at Midville Hardware in Midville, Georgia.

That's on Highway 56 not far from the Emanuel County - Burke County line.

Dispatchers tell NBC Augusta the robber entered the store around noon Saturday and shot an employee.

The victim is in stable condition at the Medical College of Georgia.
