GA teen charged after thrown-baby video online

LEESBURG, Ga. (AP) _ A south Georgia teenager is charged with child cruelty after an online video showed a young man launching a baby several feet across a room.

The video posted on YouTube shows the teenage boy putting a baby
on one side of a large, inflatable pillow on the floor.

The boy then jumps on the pillow and the baby flies several feet across the room before landing on the floor and crying.

The 16-year-old Lee County boy was arrested Tuesday after a school teacher saw the video and called the sheriff's office. The boy's name was not released because of his age.

The boy has been charged with a felony count of cruelty to children as well as a misdemeanor count of the same charge.

The video has since been removed from YouTube.

So sad, that this happened. How can such material be allowed. Yes the parents are responsible and should be held accountable as should the teen who took the video. But the boy who did it is 16 years old, he is aware of his actions and should definitely be punished. In addition to whatever legal court punishment he recieves, he should also get educated on the development of children, do volunteer work, community service. He needs more than just a slap on the wrist.

Where were the adults? How can the adults leave a baby this tiny with a hyperactive 16 year old? Yes the boy needs discipline, but the adults are the real source of neglect. Also, this boy clearly wasn't raised with values. Teens need sound adult supervision, like it or not!

I was deeply hurt by the news of this child throwing a Baby several feet across the floor. I had a son that was beaten to death at 9 months old, by his dad. So, hearing about this made me cringe, because I know how precious life is and God help him if that baby did not cry, he could have broken bones on that child. The possibilities are endless. Anytime you see a 16 year old, young adult, do something of this nature, it is red flag possible things to come. Where were the mothers of these kids?
