Sidewalks coming to Columbia County neighborhood after deadly accident

By NBC Augusta Staff

Neighbors along Mullikin Road will be getting new sidewalks.

The Columbia County Commission decided to use special purpose local option sales tax money already in their budget to form a sight plan.

In July, a kindergarten teacher was hit and killed by a car while she was walking along the road.

Construction for the new sidewalks is expected to start by the end of the year after plans are put in place.

The sidewalks will go from Fury's Ferry Road to Hunters Cove.
