Fort Discovery and the Richmond County Board of Education hosted the 2008 Education Expo.

Seventy vendors met with teachers, administrators, and media specialists.

Carol Taylor from the Richmond County Board of Education said the Expo is a less expensive way for teachers to get their classrooms ready for the new school year.

“They love it. A lot of them say they don't have the chance to go to an expensive conference. This gives them the opportunity to one on one talk with vendors to answer those questions maybe see something new. Our Dell rep over here I asked him to bring some tablet PCs, that's new on the market so they can try it out,” said Taylor.

Vendors ranged from book companies to Starbucks. There were also drawings and door prizes.
