Augusta State teams up with Georgia Tech!

Augusta State University made a major announcement Friday that will encourage more students to pursue engineering.

ASU has joined forces with Georgia Tech to set up an engineering transfer program.

Augusta State students will take the courses that are needed for a seamless transfer to the engineering program at
Georgia Tech's Savannah campus.

Augusta State University President William Bloodworth says the new agreement couldn't have come at a better time.

"Look at the industries in Augusta. Look at the industrial plants. Look at Savannah River Site. And you will see, yes, there are jobs in Augusta for engineers."

To be accepted into Georgia Tech's engineering program,
ASU students must maintain a grade point average of 2.7. The minimum GPA is 3.0 if the student isn't a Georgia resident.
