AUGUSTA, Ga. – Fees at Augusta State University are going up by $75 next semester.

The Board of Regents of The University System of Georgia voted Wednesday to have students who attend a four year university pay an extra $75 next semester.

Students who attend research schools will pay an extra $100.

Those who go to a two year school will pay $50 more.

The board says the fee is temporary and was necessary to maintain academic quality.

Budget cuts have forced The Board of Regents to reduce its spending by at least eight percent.
